For some people, the premature loss of hair is a stressful and depressing experience. There are many causes for hair loss, including dandruff, genetics and even stress. However, hair loss is preventable with the correct lifestyle changes and methods.
Here’s how to prevent hair loss the easy way, without having to resort to complicated or expensive techniques:
Massage Some Essential Oils Into Your Hair
A good formula of essential oils for promoting healthier hair growth is to add equal parts Cedarwood, Rosemary, Lavender and Tea Tree oil together. Dilute it with some neutral oil like olive, coconut or castor oil for your hair and massage it in after you’ve washed your hair. Try to do this twice or three times a week.
Hot Oil Hair Treatment
The hot oil treatment requires you to heat up some natural oils like sunflower, jojoba, coconut or even use castor oil for hair. You can heat them up in a pan over the stove for a little while. Make sure the oil doesn’t heat up above 40 degrees Celsius or else it will be too hot to handle and burn your fingers or scalp. Massage the oil into your hair, wear a shower cap and leave it on for at least an hour before washing it out with shampoo.
Use Some Green Tea
You can use either green tea powder or tea bags. If you’re using a powder, add about two tablespoons into a mug of warm water, and if you’re using tea bags, two tea bags will do. After washing your hair, pour the tea over your hair and leave it in for an hour. Green tea is full of antioxidants and will encourage the growth of healthy hair follicles while preventing scalp flakes.
Be Gentle on Your Hair
Avoid pulling it tight when tying it up, and avoid styling your hair. This means you should try not to perm, straighten or colour your hair as all these involves harsh chemicals. Use a big teeth comb while combing your hair and don’t pull it while drying. Let your hair air dry rather than using a blow dryer as the heat will stress out your hair follicles.
Using natural remedies to prevent hair loss is always preferable to using artificial chemicals as they’re much gentler, yet effective. It will also help is you perform these treatments regularly over an extended period.
